The ECS Drifter Paulownia surfboard is designed as a versatile addition to your quiver with the soul of a longboard and the performance of a shortboard, the Drifter is a true hybrid. This board is great for beginners looking for something with more float and volume, as it is easy to paddle and turn in a range of conditions. Great artwork detailing.
The ECS Drifter Paulownia surfboard is for those who want the soul of a longboard but performance of a shortboard? Then this is the one for you! A great all rounder that paddles effortlessly, takes bottom turns and cut backs to a new level.
The new E Flex series boards are shaped from high density EPS foam blanks and feature sustainable eco friendly Paulwonia wood vacuum sandwiched to the foam. This provides superior compressive strength that is further enhanced with biaxial glass under the deck and is finished with carbon fibre rails.
Designed as a versatile addition to your quiver with the soul of a longboard and the performance of a shortboard, the Drifter is a true hybrid. This board is great for beginners looking for something with more float and volume, as it is easy to paddle and turn in a range of conditions.
This board is also a great option for long boarders looking for something to ride in bigger surf with the combination of wide outline, parallel rails and pin tail holding the board through turns in bigger and hollow waves.
The bottom starts with a deep concave at the nose which flows into a double v through to the tail which is designed to generate and manage speed.
With so many fin set up options (single, twin, thruster or quad) there’s something to suit everyone.
The tail patch artwork has been created by Central Coast artist Grant Molony. This is a replica of the art that Grant and his brother Russ did for the ECS show room walls.
Growing up in The North Entrance, Grant has been making art his whole life. Looking through his remarkable catalogue of diverse work, Grant dabbles in photography (surfing, commercial and wedding), painting, and illustration.
Just over 12 months ago, Grant opened his own gallery on the Central Coast. This space not only provides him with a personal retreat to focus on his art and interact with the community, but also allows him to support the local arts community by providing a place for local exhibitions, encouraging collaborations of local artists in this cultural hub.
This is a great sustainable alternative for surfboard manufacturing. It is a fast growing tree that has a high strength to weight ratio. Paulownia is pale blonde in colour with its own character grain but approximately the same strength as Cedar.
The board has a nice flex pattern that you don’t get with most EPS boards and are light enough to be overpowered yet have enough weight for their own momentum. The E Flex boards durable, light and dynamic underfoot making the perfect travel companion.
